In March 2025, Heng Wenxin, Finance Manager for Southeast Asia, represented the region at the Global Finance Conference held in Athens, Greece. The two-day event brought together senior finance leaders from more than 20 countries — including the M42 finance team from the UAE — for a dynamic exchange of strategies, insights, and global collaboration.
As part of the programme, participants visited the Peristeri clinic, the largest Diaverum facility in Greece. Housed in a three-storey building with 45 dialysis stations, the clinic stands as a benchmark for clinical excellence and patient-centric care in the region.
The conference featured a packed agenda, with strategic updates delivered by global and regional leads across IBOF, Tax, Treasury, and Regional Finance. A notable highlight was the introduction of the GPC strategy and operations in the UAE and Bahrain clusters, led by the M42 team. Additionally, an open dialogue with Diaverum’s external auditors, Deloitte, provided valuable feedback and learnings from the first-year audit experience.
Adding a touch of creativity and camaraderie, a hands-on team activity led by Håkan Petersson encouraged collaboration and strengthened connections among attendees.
Outside the conference sessions, delegates immersed themselves in the cultural heritage of Athens with a guided tour of the Acropolis and a stroll through the charming Plaka district — a memorable experience made even more special by light rain and shared laughter.
Reflecting on the experience, Wenxin shared: “This is my third global conference with Diaverum, and each one brings renewed energy and inspiration. It’s always a privilege to connect with finance colleagues from across the globe, engage in meaningful discussions, and gain firsthand insight into the local operations of our host country.”
